Books, Articles, and Other Resources:
My favorite part about teaching at 色色研究所 is: The environment.
When I’m not teaching, I love to: Draw comics and play acoustic music.
In my classes, students can expect: To feel great about accomplishing big goals.
My best advice to a new student in my program is: Work hard! Creative media, digital art, (whatever you want to call it) is tough stuff. It is multi-disciplinary. It鈥檚 drawing and painting in a variety of mediums, it鈥檚 calligraphy and typography, it鈥檚 digital art skills, it鈥檚 book design, it鈥檚 creative writing, it鈥檚 dramatic writing, it鈥檚 cinematography, it鈥檚 color theory, it鈥檚 narrative. Frankly, in today鈥檚 market it鈥檚 also web design, entrepreneurship, advertising, public speaking, performance, and business management among other things.
Because of my influence, I most want my students to become: Fantastic, interesting people who understand that ideas can only change the world if they are delivered in an engaging way.
The myth-busting truth about my discipline I most want people to understand is: Talent has almost nothing to do with one鈥檚 ability to succeed in the arts. It is FAR more about discipline.
A quote that influences how I live is: 鈥淚nspiration is for amateurs鈥he rest of us just show up and get to work.鈥 – Chuck Close
